BABY BLAKE

Baby Blake was born on Tuesday 12-11 at 11:59pm. I was induced on Monday at noon due to decelerations in Blakes heart rate during contractions. Shane and I had went in for what we thought was a normal appointment just to learn we had to go straight to the hospital. So we went there and once I was settled in, Shane ran home to get all of our bags. I was glad we were prepared and had packed before. They started me on pitocin and the contractions were not that bad. I had no idea what I was in for :) At about midnight they switched me to another drug to induce labor that might work better. IT DID! The contractions got unbearable. So I requested some IV drugs to help me at least sleep some. I was able to sleep from 5 am-8 am. Then the contractions got worse again. That is when I had an epidural. That was amazing! It still seemed like everything was taking SO long. Probably because I hadn't ate since Monday morning either. (besides the chicken broth and jello they give you). My water finally broke at 10:30 pm. I was 2 cm dilated at that time. Things quickly progressed then. I was 10 cm by 11:35 and ready to push. About 6 sets of 4 pushes during contractions over 25 min or so and out came baby blake. His cord was wrapped around his neck 3 times. That is why his heart rate was dropping. Other than that he is a healthy little one!! Adorable as can be. Shane and I love his very much!!!! He was 6lbs 7 oz....19 3/4ths inches long. I will update more later. I just wanted to make sure I got some pictures posted!

Shane Birthday

Since we thought Baby Blake was coming early on Shane's birthday, we had to postpone his golfing outing. So we went this past Friday at Mac Dill Air force Base. It was a beautiful day! It was in the high 70's and the sun was shinning! We had a great day together!

Shane Graduation

Shane just got his diploma's in the mail. He graduated with an A.A. and a B.S. in Exercise Science.

38 weeks

Baby update! Well, we thought Baby Blake was coming early the week before last. I had went in for an appointment on Nov. 26th (Shane's birthday). They had hooked me up to a machine to monitor contractions and the babies heart rate. I was having steady contractions for the whole hour I was hooked up. So the doctor sent me home and said to come back later that night. I was still having contractions then. So we thought it was going to be any day. Turns out it was just false labor. It is so hard to be patient and wait for him to come after we had our hopes up :) The doctor had done an ultrasound and said Blake was 6lbs at that point. So we were reassured that if he came early that he would be a pretty good size. I have had contractions on and off between then and now, but nothing that progressed. He sure is a little squirmer though :) We just cannot wait to meet him!
